Matelasserie

Matelasserie is an ongoing research project into traditional wool mattress-making techniques, carried out with textile craftsman Rémi Marilleau during a two-month residency at the Fondation Martell, Cognac FR.

Far from the original use and shape of the mattress, this series of forms explores the technique's ability to create volume: an envelope of cotton fabric is filled with local wool flakes before being compressed with threads and buttons.
