OVER ALL with EREZ NEVI PANA

With Erez Nevi Pana we travelled to Rajasthan in India to design, weave, perform and photograph this project, made for an exhibition focusing on Vegan Design during the Dutch Design Week 2016 in Eindhoven, at La Terrasse space. We went to India for its ancient vegan practice living beside the system of casts, where all living matters are ranked within each other. We have imagined three scenarios as virtual attempts to exhibit humankind demotion in an imaginative world that could arise 100 years from now, where humankind is no longer the dominant intelligent life. Each scenario, Submerged, Harmony and Mimicry, raises questions that accompany the life cycle of animals today. The design process we went through involved the use of Indian spices, flowers, leaves, everyday objects and waste collected from our surroundings, in addition to Indian crafts such as pottery, spinning yarns and weaving textiles. OVER ALL has been created in August 2016 in Rajasthan with the help of various local craftsmen and our interns Juliette Le Goff & Juline Dar De Gervais. Erez is currently doing a PHD on vegan design.
